Leslie Faith Jones

Leslie Faith Jones is a seasoned public defender and civil rights attorney who is committed to building an equitable and inclusive environment where every Harvard Chan student can thrive, in school and post-graduation. Through Harvard Chan, she intends to design an appropriate response for action and equitable reform which moves public safety beyond individual accountability models. She has learned through litigation to embrace health as an interactive concept which impacts children across their lifespans—from beginning (stop/frisk) to end (expungement/re-entry/life sentences). She hopes to learn more about the inverse relationship between opportunity and adverse childhood environments/experiences (ACEs) exposure for youth at-risk for criminalization and incarceration. As the MPH GEN Representative, she will advocate to expand cross-registration at other Harvard Schools and increase virtual access to more leadership and professional development opportunities to maximize both Cohorts’ abilities to excel in their respective fields (and share their collective expertise with the Harvard community as established global gamechangers).

What would you like to do as a member of HCSGA officer this year?

As a member of HCSGA for 2024-2025, Leslie Faith Jones (she/her) intends to work in collaboration with the SGA Executive Board, its representative on the Harvard Graduate Council, and the Professional Development Coordinator to ensure the concerns and needs of both MPH GEN cohorts regarding academic access and professional opportunity throughout the Harvard community and its global spheres of influence are addressed. Specifically, she will zealously advocate to expand cross-registration at other Harvard Schools and ensure virtual access to more leadership and professional development opportunities to maximize both cohorts’ ability to excel in their respective fields (and share their collective expertise with the Harvard community as established global gamechangers).
