Khondoker Nabi
Khondoker Nabi is a PhD candidate in the Department of Biostatistics at the HSPH and a research assistant at both BCH and MGH. Driven by a deep passion for infectious disease modeling and a commitment to developing sustainable health programs in low-and middle-income countries, Nabi brings a distinguished combination of expertise and dedication to advancing global public health. Before beginning his doctoral studies, Nabi served as an Assistant Professor at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. This role equipped him with invaluable insights into both academia and public health research. As an international student himself, he is keenly aware of the challenges his peers face and is committed to fostering a more inclusive and supportive academic environment. Recently nominated as the Academic Program Representative for the Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science programs, Nabi is focused on advocating for the resources and support necessary for PhD and ScD students to thrive. His key objectives include strengthening communication between students and administration, encouraging interdepartmental collaboration, and promoting transparency in policy discussions. With his unwavering dedication to advocacy, transparency, and community-building, Nabi is enthusiastic about representing his peers and contributing to a more supportive and inclusive academic experience for all.

What would you like to do as a member of HCSGA officer this year?
As an HCSGA officer, I plan to advocate for enhanced mental health support and academic resources tailored to the unique challenges faced by PhD and ScD students, especially international students. Additionally, I aim to improve communication between students and administration, ensuring transparent discussions around academic policies and fostering more cross-departmental collaboration and networking opportunities.
